First Semester Guide for all Welding students:

WELD 170 Beginning Welding: Fundamentals of Arc and Gas Welding - 2 Units (In person)

  • The students will learn the fundamentals of arc and oxy-acetylene welding, and oxy-acetylene flame cutting. Topics will include safety, shop practices, and preparation for American Welding Society (AWS) welding certifications. 
  • This course is a Prerequisite for the other WELD series courses

Mach 161 Metallurgy - 3 Units (Online)

  • The students will study metals including alloying, heat treating, testing and applications in industry.

Welding Technology (AS) - 60 Units

Welding Technology Certificate - 19 Units

Welding: Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) Certificate - 9 Units

Welding: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Certificate - 9 Units
